the idea
It all started with a Robin's nest in the backyard. Seeing the nest up close, Mina-who was 8 years old at the time-asked her father if they could build a birdhouse to protect the chicks. Soon the two were collaborating, sketching and designing their first birdhouse to be built together as a home project.
The process gave Nima (ONY Architecture) an idea to design unique, modern birdhouse kits to sell with Mina. Through their project, he would teach her lessons in design, carpentry, commerce, and entrepreneurship. Their endeavor would also help her learn the value of hard work, persistence, and the importance of social responsibility.
What started as a happy find in a Rhododendron tree has blossomed into a father and daughter venture, aimed at encouraging parents and kids to collaborate on projects together. At the same time, both Mina and Nima can practice social responsibility by teaming up with organizations helping to battle climate change and help protect endangered species.

As modernists at heart, we’ve set out to create modern birdhouses for today’s contemporary bird. All our designs are minimalist and timeless in design and achieve the optimal layout for bird families of various backgrounds.
Drawing inspiration from distinguished architectural projects from around the world, we’ve designed birdhouses which could not only grace the cover of design magazines, but could truly stand out in the neighborhood of other birdhouses.
It is our goal to create intelligent bird spaces that infuse ideal functionality with a quality aesthetic experience. We strive for a unique avian architectural language -- distinguished, simple, elegant, and most importantly, "timeless".

All our birdhouse kits are designed, built, and assembled in our home woodshop with the ultimate goal to create well crafted birdhouses with attention to detail, quality and precision.
Using the highest quality marine-grade teak and mahogany plywood, each birdhouse kit is uniquely designed to be assembled easily and to endure in the natural world, sheltering and protecting bird’s nests of all kinds.
Natural wood oils and other finishes can be applied to each component of the birdhouse to protect it against the elements, while maintaining a safe, comfortable interior environment for our bird families.
All of our Chirp Birdhouses are designed to easily hang on any tree, wall, or fence post, where your bird families can have a great view and be protected.
