An existing Victorian in the heart of Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood is transformed into a minimalist, modern residence. The client’s mid-century modern sense of style and taste inform the overall approach to both the interior and exterior of the project. The existing kitchen is completely overhauled and a new folding patio door system allows for the kitchen space to spill out onto the new deck. The new Ipe deck which serves as an oasis in the city spills down to the existing stone garden as a new louvered screen wall provides privacy.
